    Good breakfast.

Small room. No shampoo in bath, device for soap is wrecked. Not very clean.

    Very good

The hotel was very well situated; close to the city centre. The neighbourhood is nice and the Italian restaurant on the other side of the hotel was truly fabulous. I found the hotel very cosy and with a good part of local charm. I could easily return.

They could have announced more clearly that they didn't take credit cards in order to pay for the hotel but they were flexble.

    Fabulous

    Great location, great staff.

There was an unpleasant smell coming from our bathroom.

    Very good

The hotel was excellent value for money - a good choice if you are looking for a budget hotel in Amsterdam. Of particular note was the super breakfast. We had a very warm greeting from the reception on our arrival.

The hotel is in desperate need of some up-dating and TLC eg the decor was from the 1970s and the shower was rather cranky. The steep and narrow steps up to the higher floors (there is no lift) was be difficult for the elderly or those with mobility problems.

    Very good

Sanjay the lad on reception was positivly delightful. While the hotel was teeming with activity, he set aside time to assist our queries and help us find our way around the city.

The elevator to the top floor which we had been using turned out to hold no more than 200kgs (much less than our combined weight). I wish we'd been told

    Fabulous

I really liked the fabulous breakfasts available, included in the room rate. The food was excellent, plentiful and the coffee fabulous. The breakfast room comfortable and attractive. The staff, right down to the room attendents were very pleasant and accomodating. The location is lovely,in a quiet residential street, but very close to the canal ring and the touristy areas near the park and the museums. The staircase is steep, and gave my stay a real reminder that I was in a really central Amsterdam location, and is a positive feature of the hotel, not a detractor. Just don't pack too much for your stay. The other guests were quiet and pleasant to meet.

Some facilities are tired out, such as the plumbing and tiles in the wet areas, and the towels. I believe here should be a mattress protector on the beds, as the sheet was put straight onto the mattress which is not very hygenic in a hotel environment with such high usage,(room two- unsure if they use an undercover on the mattress in other rooms ? I suspect/hope the mattress due to its softness may be coming to the end of its useThe doors tend to be slammed due to a combination of the locking mechanism and the way people shut them too hard. This seemed to occurr with large groups arriving at early or late hours which disturbed the other guests, there is nothing that could be done about that however a little more assistance at check in, in which a guest is shown helpful things in the room like how to open the window (as some guests are not from Europe and are unfamiliar with the handle mechanisms), how to avoid slamming the door to prevent others being woken etc, and this would certainly give a really good welcome.

    Good

Location - close and convenient to transport and key sights. Also generous breakfast and access to free wifi.

It appeared rather mean-spirited with unwelcoming signs and rules posted all over the place. Very rule-bound, suitable for school children rather than adult tourists. Extremely small room with poor quality TV, no basin plugs (even upon request), no iron unless done while being supervised. Staff was helpful but atmosphere was like a school dormitory.Value lies in low-cost only.

The breakfast room is cheerful and airy overlooking a small back garden. The room allocated to us is clean and new. Alex can be friendly and try to accommodate our requests.

As with most Amsterdam hotels rooms, its small, small, small. An air- condition in the room would have been great, we have to open the window and have to put up with the noises from the streets, as we have room facing the front. A fridge would have been bonus, to keep fruits and juices that could be purchased from supermarkets nearby, but then again there is no place to put it, well except in toilet or hang up.

    Good location, good breakfast

Noone was polite or cool or cozy or nice as it is referred to some comments in the website or the booklet near the reception.

    Exceptional

The Hotel was close to the city center and also in the middle of all the important areas to visit. I liked also the design of the rooms and the cleanliness. On top of that, the breakfast buffet was great. I would return anytime.

The staff is not too friendly and smiling, but they are effective.

    Exceptional

The rooms were very spacious and the bed was quite comfortable. It was a great location right by transportation with shopping and entertainment nearby.

The only thing we didn't like was that breakfast ended earlier than we would have liked. If breakfast would have gone until 10 or 10:30 that would have been nice.

    Fabulous

The location was perfect. The room was cleaned everyday.

Though the room was rather nice, neither the hotel website nor Booked.net had the pictures of the room we stayed at. We expected to have a bigger room as was offered by the websites. Plus, all guests had breakfast at the same time around 9 and it was difficult to find a place to sit down. And if you did manage to sit down, you were forced to eat fast 'cause a lot of people were standing behind you waiting for a table.

    Superb

We had read in reviews that the staff would be unpleasant. Quite the contrary. They were absolutely great and so very helpful. thank YOU!Our room was clean and cheery and everything one can expect from a two-star hotel. Bonus: enjoy the flowers and particularly the blue orchids...

Hotel staff were frendly .Location of hotel was nice and quiet but close to public transport and not a bad price.

The bed was a bit unconfortable the TV did not work very well and there was and odd smell from the bathroom.

    Exceptional

Very friendly and helpful staff - feel like home when staying there especially if travel alone. A sheer variety of sumptous breakfast. Impressive flower beds and cute garden everywhere. Comfortable and cute room decoration although a bit small. Strike the right balance between convenience and peace, only 5 minutes walk from Leidsplien. Quiet room. Definitely worth the pay in a place like Amsterdam where cost of living is usually very high.

    Steep and narrow staircase.
